IT / Systems

Ryonet HQ has a vision that one day every workplace can be a tobacco free zone; inside and out.  We are proud to say that 90% of our HQ team are now non-smokers - Go team!

We The People: Aww this is where we ROCK!

We use the Core Value Index (CVI) because knowing how we roll naturally means we are having more fun and getting more done. Our teams are building on strengths; Managers don’t nag us to work in our weaknesses (unless we want them to). How cool is that?

We will hire from the RyoNation, people we have gotten know and all humans are welcome. We simply want a common thread, and it starts with our values;  are they yours too?  If you already have these values and have the courage to speak up with respect, then you will feel the fit.

However, with that said, if you suck, are negative and moody, are too grumpy in the morning to say “hey”, just want to have friends and not get the work done, or you generally have highs and lows that make others not want to be around you, then this is not a good match. BUT it it’s only temporary for you, you CAN become part of the RyoNation, follow us and see what balance looks like. Then when you’re not so grumpy and unpredictable, maybe timing will be better. We LOVE our fan base!!

The interview process:

Before you go into serious negotiations, you will need to fully embrace our attitude, attend at least 1 Q&A, a Screen Printing Class in WA and hopefully one of our Parties.

You will have plenty of time to learn us, as our process will be a very active 4-8 weeks, depending on schedules and tons of information gathered on your own, as well as through the process. Your meetings with us will be an hour or two with every department that affects your areas of responsibilities.

Our responsibility in this process is to be transparent and open to the questions you will ask and provide you with clear expectations of the role. We will not sugar-coat the position or paint a picture of our company that is not realistic. We are proud of our culture, know that it works, and want people who understand who we are.

Where you will be doing it:

At HQ, Vancouver, WA 4th Plain and NE 121st 98682 but see all of our locations

Systems / IT Digs:

IT is one solid team with 2 different Digs:

Digs for Netsuite-

Welcome to Ryonet IT 2/3rd of our team focus’ on Netsuite, our e-commerce website, and system support.  Our Netsuite/ website group shares a room, a prime corner office with a view of the mountains; both Hood and St. Helens and the beauty of the weather, as it happens.  This group currently has room for one more developer before we would need to expand. We have modest, standing/sitting adjustable desks that fit monitors and a little space for something significant to each of us.  We tend to put our headphones on, our heads down, and minimize the chatter, to focus on projects. We are true to our CVI’s;  we tend to favor data and improvement.

Digs for all things that keep Ryonet a technology wonder- at times keeping old computers working til they die-

We use SCRUM to help with that. When we hire for his group, the new member will help allot by filtering most of the easier questions before escalating. The workspace for the desktop support team is being redesigned and will include efficient but simple work space along with all the tools for effective service to our team.

2/3rds of our team live in the technical details: system processes, APIs, JavaScript, debugging, user requirements, workflows, and so on. We can look at a chunk of HTML or a JavaScript function and see the beauty beyond a few lines of text, and though we don’t say much, we say what’s needed. With a department’s primary objective of “Replace All Humans”, followed by “Take Over The World”, we like to have a little fun as we work hard to make our systems, and therefore the company, run smoother. We will only hire those that bring a positive outlook and are easy to work with, good skills and a great attitude. That means a willingness to help others and get the job done with high efficiencies and quality output. However, just when we think we are alone, projects get interrupted by new tasks, those tasks will get interrupted by quick requests, those requests will get interrupted by new system issues.  People walk in, you may hear a loud growl when something isn’t working, and yes there’s a touch of respectful sarcasm from time to time.  Part of the job is figuring out what is really a priority, and being ok with plans changing. We are highly collaborative as things shift, and an important part of the process is bouncing issues and ideas off each other to find the best solution.

On Leaving Whatever You're Doing Now:

Do not rush, chances are one of these scenarios may have been true for you: you were sick and tired, or someone called you on a bad day so you said “why not”, or you were part of a lay off and had to get a job fast, or you were told one thing in the interview then learned it was not what you thought. We invite you to choose Ryonet, because you took time to know us.

Become part of the RyoNation: (when we hire, we hire from our Fan Base)

So… if you think it’s time to start looking for a new gig, start with Ryonet and enjoy the process, have some fun!  We do not accept resumes as your intro, because you are not your resume. Attend one of our Q&A’s, get comfortable, there are usually 5-10 fans there and 1 or 2 Ryonet people; you ask the questions. We want to fascinate you and be fascinated by you, then we invite you to join us in the fun we have. Come see how we work and how we play.

Just click here if you want to be invited to the next Q&A. Include your name, phone number and email address so we can send you an email about 4 days before the event.

At Ryonet we strive:

●      To work by the Ryonet set of values

●      Address conflict head on

●      Stop gossip before it becomes destructive

●      Minimize the whining

We are leaders, we respect our management and the strengths in others, and we want to stop interviewing anyone who isn’t sure they want to be here. Ask yourself R U Crazy Enough for the RyoNation!
